Measures for mechanically pruning tea leaves

For tea trees of different ages, mechanized pruning methods require the use of different tea pruner. For young tea trees, it is mainly pruned to a certain shape; for mature tea trees, it is mainly shallow pruning and deep pruning; for old tea trees, it is mainly pruned and cut again.

Light Repair

Light pruning can effectively promote the germination and growth of tea trees. It can also increase the density of production branches and the width of the tree to create a good tea picking surface. For adult tea trees, light pruning should be done every two years, when the upper part of the tea tree stops growing. Light pruning mainly involves using a tea harvester machine to cut off about 4cm of branches and leaves on the surface of the tea tree canopy.

Deep trimming

Due to years of picking and pruning, adult tea trees have many twigs on the picking surface of the crown, which affects the growth and development of new shoots and buds. In order to promote the renewal of the crown picking surface and the growth of new shoots on the central axis of the tea tree, and improve the development ability, it is necessary to use a tea pruning machine to deeply prune and cut off the branches about 12cm from the crown surface.

Refinish

Re-pruning is mainly for semi-aged and unaged tea trees. The main branches of these tea trees have strong growth ability, but the bud development ability of the growing branches is weak, and the tea leaves are weak. At this time, you need to use a tea pruner and hedge trimmer to cut the tea tree about 30cm from the ground.

Full Cut

After the spring tea is picked, use a brush cutter to trim the aging tea tree 5cm above the ground so that it can pull out new branches from the rhizomes to form a new crown. During this period, attention should be paid to fertilization management, pruning and cultivating the tea canopy.
