“I use a single-person portable electric tea picking machine to pick summer and autumn tea, and I can quickly pick 400 catties of tea greens a day.” Similarly, other villagers who are harvesting summer and autumn teas by machine said that in the past two years, they picked summer and autumn teas by hand, and they could only pick 60 catties of tea greens a day.

According to reports, Xinshan Village currently has an area of more than 3,800 mu of tea gardens. This year, the harvestable area is 1,800 mu, and 60 tons of spring tea will be picked and processed.

A lot of labor is required from the management and maintenance of tea gardens, spring tea picking, summer tea and autumn tea machine picking, and tea processing. After several years of development, Xinshan Village has not only a large-scale tea garden, but also a standardized tea processing factory.

Tea picking can continue until October. Xiaqiu uses tea harvesters to pick tea leaves, which increases the tea output and increases the income of the village cooperative. The villagers also increase their income through machine-picked green tea and processing Xiaqiu tea leaves. At present, with the promotion of tea machine picking, tea raw materials will further increase, which creates conditions for the introduction of tea deep processing enterprises, and promotes the transformation and upgrading of the tea industry structure in Xinshan Village.
