Technical guidance on spring tea garden production management

It is now a critical period for spring tea production, and tea picking machines are a powerful tool for harvesting tea gardens. How to deal with the following problems in tea garden production.

1. Coping with the late spring cold

(1) Frost protection. Pay attention to local meteorological information. When the temperature drops to about 0℃, directly cover the tea tree canopy surface in the mature tea garden with non-woven fabrics, woven bags, multi-layer films or multi-layer sunshade nets, with a frame 20-50 cm higher than the canopy surface. Shed coverage works better. It is recommended to install anti-frost machines in large-scale tea gardens. When frost comes, turn on the machine to blow the air and disturb the air near the ground to increase the surface temperature of the tree and avoid or reduce frost damage.

(2) Use a tea pruner machine to prune in time. When the tea tree suffers minor frost damage, no pruning is required; when the degree of frost damage is moderate, the upper frozen branches and leaves can be cut off; when the degree of frost damage is severe, deep pruning or even heavy pruning is required to reshape the crown.

2. Apply germination fertilizer

(1) Apply germination fertilizer to the roots. Spring germination fertilizer should be applied after the late spring cold or before spring tea is harvested to ensure adequate supply of nutrients to the tea trees. Mainly use quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer, and apply 20-30 kilograms of high-nitrogen compound fertilizer per acre. Apply in trenches with a trench depth of about 10 cm. Cover with soil immediately after application.

(2) Apply foliar fertilizer. Spraying can be done twice in spring. Generally, a sprayer is used to power sprayer once before the new shoots of spring tea sprout, and again after two weeks. Spraying should be carried out before 10 am on a sunny day, after 4 pm on a cloudy day or on a cloudy day.

3. Do a good job in picking operations

(1) Timely mining. The tea garden should be mined sooner rather than later. When about 5-10% of the spring shoots on the tea tree reach the picking standard, it should be mined. It is necessary to master the picking cycle and pick in time to meet the standards.

(2) Picking in batches. During the peak picking period, it is necessary to organize enough pickers to pick a batch every 3-4 days. In the early stage, famous and high-quality teas are picked manually. In the later stage, Tea Harvesting Machine can be used to pick tea to improve picking efficiency.

(3) Transportation and preservation. Fresh leaves should be transported to the tea processing factory within 4 hours and spread in a clean and cool room as soon as possible. The container for transporting fresh leaves should be a bamboo woven basket with good air permeability and cleanness, with a suitable capacity of 10-20 kilograms. Avoid squeezing during transportation to reduce damage.
